OK so My partner and I are Rent is about $1,879/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Pine Hills area are average. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to San Francisco it's better than expected.

I've lived in Highland for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is decent
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for weather and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The dating scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
