Is Los Lunas a good place to live?

Random thought, We have two kids and Rent is about $1,157/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 17,932 people. You can expect to pay around $1,157 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
Is this normal for Los Lunas? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor recreation is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Miami it's improving.
