Quick question about Los Osos

Curious what people think. I work in automotive and Rent is about $1,909/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

I work in construction here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for work and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The food scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
