Worst things about Los Osos nobody talks about

My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $103,504, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. TIA! Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The job market scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..
