Alright, I'm a teacher here and It's a a small town city with about 10,274 people. Rent is about $1,891/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $370,200 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is decent in most areas.

I've been here 11 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.
