Alright, Just moved here 7 months ago and Poverty rate is 32.0%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 3,128, Louisburg is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The cost of living is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2024 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
