Commute times in Louisiana -how bad?

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 2 months ago and With a population of 3,231, Louisiana is a small town. Homes are going for about $81,100 on average. Poverty rate is 12.9%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Louisiana sits at 370.3 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thoughts? TIA! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
