Housing in Louisville compared to Tampa

Curious what people think. Rent is about $842/month for a decent place. With a population of 9,560, Louisville is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
