Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 10,967, Lovejoy is a small town. Homes are going for about $228,500 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Denver about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Old Town for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Denver about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
