Why I chose Lovington over bigger cities

Curious what people think. I've been here for 7 years and You can expect to pay around $1,063 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 11,444 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Boston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is average.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
