So, The median home value here is around $395,100, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (The Heights) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
