Cost of living reality check -Lower Burrell

So, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. With a population of 11,659, Lower Burrell is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 11,659 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 15 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

I'm a teacher and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Old Town for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Austin about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
