Best hidden gems in Lowes Island

OK so I'm retired and Household incomes average around $220,238 in Lowes Island. The median home value here is around $777,700, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 11,199 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited dining options
- Lack of diversity
Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.
