Random thought, I'm single, late 40s, and Household incomes average around $60,487 in Lubbock. Crime rate is something to consider — Lubbock sits at 1,008.1 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any help is appreciated.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The cultural scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
