Best restaurants in Lufkin?

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,158 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 14 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
