We have two kids and You can expect to pay around $1,038 for rent here. The median home value here is around $212,500, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $212,500 on average. Household incomes average around $55,733 in Luling. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Diego about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The cost of living is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
