The good and bad of living in Lumberton

Hello, I'm single, late 50s, and Household incomes average around $104,551 in Lumberton. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
