I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The public transit is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2018 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 3 years. Moved from San Diego for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Fairview for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a teacher and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Portland about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
