Weekend activities in Lutz?

Hey everyone, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Minneapolis about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 14 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
