Couple moving to Lynbrook from out of state

Hi all, Crime rate is something to consider -Lynbrook sits at 119.0 per 100K. The median home value here is around $592,400, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is tough. Tons of great BBQ places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Bought a house here in 2023 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
