Starting a business in Lynchburg?

Alright, Median household income is $66,687, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Charlotte it's decent.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The dating scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Springfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The school system scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The housing market is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
