Best kept secrets of Lynchburg, VA

Been living here since 2014. Crime rate is something to consider -Lynchburg sits at 383.0 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
