Raising a family in Lynden -thoughts?

I'm originally from Austin and Homes are going for about $546,400 on average. Median household income is $94,869, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,623/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
