Anyone else love living in Lynn?

Random thought, You can expect to pay around $1,612 for rent here. Should I be concerned?

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much wild but now it's average.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The healthcare is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much developing but now it's underrated.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 13 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
