Job market in Lynn — what industries are hiring?

I'm in retail and considering a move to Lynn, MA. How's the job market there? The unemployment rate shows 3.1% which seems pretty good. But what does it actually look like on the ground?

Is it easy to network and find opportunities?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Fairview) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..
