Rent prices in Lynn getting crazy

Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Lynn? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1612 for a studio which feels okay for the area.

Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

I work in manufacturing and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 1 months.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Check out the University District area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Coming from Boston, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Highland Park. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.

I've lived in Oakwood for 12 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Midtown and Oakwood are perfectly safe.

The job market has been improving lately. Several tech companies moved in recently.

As someone who moved here from Boston, I can confirm most of this. The job opportunities surprised me the most.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 8/10.
