What I wish I knew before living in Lynn

Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and You can expect to pay around $1,612 for rent here. Rent is about $1,612/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Diego about 4 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is solid in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
