So, We have two kids and It's a a small town city with about 12,964 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Lynnfield sits at 15.2 per 100K. Rent is about $2,333/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I work in retail here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The weather is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
