Alright, Homes are going for about $243,500 on average. Rent is about $1,154/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Anyone in a similar situation?

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
