Relocating to Lyons, IL -pros and cons?

Random thought, The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Lyons sits at 153.3 per 100K. Homes are going for about $243,500 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
