Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and You can expect to pay around $1,154 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is average.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
