Cheapest neighborhoods in Macon-Bibb County?

OK so I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $165,800 on average. With a population of 157K, Macon-Bibb County is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $50,747 in Macon-Bibb County. Crime rate is something to consider — Macon-Bibb County sits at 164.6 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
