Cost of living reality check — Macon-Bibb County

So, I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 18.9%, which is higher than I expected. You can expect to pay around $1,026 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider — Macon-Bibb County sits at 164.6 per 100K. Household incomes average around $50,747 in Macon-Bibb County. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.
