How much do you pay for rent in Macon-Bibb County?

So, I'm a remote worker and With a population of 157K, Macon-Bibb County is a mid-size city. Poverty rate is 18.9%, which is higher than I expected. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 12 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
