Moving to Macon-Bibb County with kids — good idea?

So, The median home value here is around $165,800, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 11 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
