Life in Madeira as a young professional

I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $2,031 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. TIA! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 7 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
