Thinking about relocating to Madera from Cleveland

Hello, Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $63,619, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Madera sits at 504.2 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? Cheers. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 4 years. Moved from Denver for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is average - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited shopping options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
