Hi all, Military spouse here. With a population of 4,714, Madison is a small town. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 8 years. Moved from Charlotte for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited high-paying job options. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 6 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
