Best and worst neighborhoods in Madison Heights

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,411 people. Poverty rate is 8.5%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,138/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Greenfield area are challenging. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 11 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
