Hi all, Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $120,918 in Madison. You can expect to pay around $1,798 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,775 people. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Madison? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
