Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks in advance! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Highland area are underrated. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Definitely worth checking out..

I work in finance here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is pretty good. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
