Madelyn Baker moving

Just moved to Madisonville, any tips?

Hello, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $860 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 19,442 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Madisonville?

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Downtown area are solid. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 1 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I work in hospitality here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is decent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
