Hey everyone, Military spouse here. Rent is about $860/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great sushi places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
