Couple moving to Magna metro township from out of state
Just moved here 4 months ago and It's a a smaller city city with about 29,488 people. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $341,400, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thanks for reading. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'm a HR manager and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Came here for school and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor recreation is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Westside for 5 years. Moved from LA for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Far from beaches/mountains. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
