How is the nightlife in Mahomet?
Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

I've lived in East for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The walkability scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Came here for family and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor recreation is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
