Alright, I'm single, late 30s, and It's a a small town city with about 8,108 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Mahtomedi sits at 125.0 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
