Best areas to explore in Maitland?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Median household income is $93,318, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 8.8%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Atlanta about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
