Is it worth buying in Maitland?

OK so My partner and I are Homes are going for about $526,400 on average. Poverty rate is 8.8%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What would you do? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a writer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is average and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The food scene is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor recreation is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 10 years. Moved from Houston for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Limited shopping options. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Denver about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
