What to expect moving to Malden?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 12 months ago and Poverty rate is 9.0%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $95,298 in Malden. It's a a smaller city city with about 65,509 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I work in legal here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is improving. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Sunset) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
