Job market in Malden for tech?

I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $38,786 in Malden. You can expect to pay around $702 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Anyone in a similar situation?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The traffic is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Springfield for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
